Minnesota’s No-Fault act was enacted in 1975 with the intention of accomplishing several things:

-Eliminate fault as the basis for compensation of medical and wage loss benefits in the event of an automotive accident.

-Allow for immediate benefits to be provided without the need for litigation.

-Limit the extent to which a non-negligent driver can bring litigation against an at-fault driver.
